The Innocence Project at Osgoode Hall
Law School has been developed to address, in a systemic way, the
phenomenon of wrongful convictions in Canada. Up to 10 law students
each year, working for credit under the supervision of the Director,
will provide assistance to those claiming to have been wrongly convicted.
As part of this curriculum, selected cases will be reinvestigated
and, where possible and appropriate, new scientific tests such as
DNA will be conducted. When a case for innocence has been made out,
the Project will seek a pardon, new trial, compensation, or other
appropriate remedy.
